"SHINRA is a name that comes from "All things moral” or “All things in nature". It represents all things in existence. It is a piece that represents a symbol of God that stands above it all. Several months before the creation of this work, I accomplished my childhood dream of riding an elephant in India while I was on location filming a movie. This work is based off of that elephant.

The production period for this piece is 2 months.

First I sculpted the clay by hand, and made a mold with silicone and fiberglass. After pouring in the casting resin to cast, I painted the piece in layers to achieve an old-fashioned, worldly and worn antique color. Each part of the sculpture is connected with brass to create a dynamic and unique lamp. Just as the world is made of many different parts that fit together, so too is this piece." -- Akihito
