JUNIOR GALLERY CURATOR

We are looking for an organized assistant who is passionate about animation, illustration, video games, entertainment, inspiring others, organizing fun events, and building community. Apply if you are looking to make a career of helping artists grow, enjoy event organizing, if you have an eye for detail, are highly self motivated, organized, and can complete tasks efficiently and independently, but with the support of a tightly knit team.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple concurrent events.
  • Coordinating with multiple parties for exhibitions and signings, including studios, game developers, and IP holders.
  • Customer service and sales.
  • Photography and photo editing.
  • Artwork hanging, pricing, and packaging.
  • Gallery space maintenance and upkeep.
  • Marketing research and outreach for exhibitions and events.
  • Art and inventory management.
  • Assisting other gallery curators with event-related tasks.


Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Independent worker with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of event planning, curation, and talent management.
  • Thrives under tight deadlines and can learn quickly.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and solution-focused.
  • Proficient in Photoshop and Google Suite.
  • Prior experience in cashier, customer service, or conventions is a plus.
  • Passion for artists and entertainment media (comics, animation, games, pop culture)
  • Highly organized and systematic.
  • Willing to handle a wide variety of tasks.
  • Background in design or English arts is a plus.
  • Available to work in person at 210 East Main St. Alhambra, CA 91801.


Schedule:

  • Part time with a min of 25 - 30 hours a week
  • 4 - 5 days a week
  • 12pm - 6pm Tuesday - Saturday
  • (This can become a full time position with the right candidate)

 

Compensation:

  • $18 / hour starting pay
  • Employee discounts

GALLERY PREPARATION INTERN

This is a non-paid internship, however we do offer school credit (if applicable), store discounts, recommendation letters, resume and portfolio assistance. Interns are only required a minimum of 10 hours per week for a total of 150 hours. The duration of internships may vary based on individual schedules.

Job Description:

  • Assisting the gallery curator in preparing the gallery for exhibitions and events.
  • Hands-on work with artwork. Hanging, wrapping, and taking down exhibitions.
  • Help with our gift shop and a variety of other events, gallery, and shop related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about working hands-on with gallery artwork.
  • Friendly and works well in a team environment.
  • Organized, punctual, and strong desire for quality and excellent customer service.
  • Eager to learn.
