"There is a Japanese proverb that says: 'Cats don't know what's inside the tiger's mind.' It implies that ordinary people cannot understand the thoughts and feelings of great men. I thought it would be interesting to reverse this and replaced the tiger with the cat and vise versa. If you look closely you can see various characters and sounds related to cats as well as cat shapes are hidden among the leaves. The writing at the bottom of the composition are in a typeface that looks like archaic Japanese characters. I wanted to deconstruct and reassembled them so that even a Japanese person cannot decipher it."
