A frustrated Franzika Kline rid herself of all her cleaning tools and supplies to rediscover her cleaning spirit. Her broom strokes became completely random, fluid, and dynamic. Kline also began cleaning only with soap and water. Because of her impact and her simple method, Kline was dubbed the "soap and water housewife," a label that stuck with her and by which she would ultimately feel restricted.
