PICTURE BOOK WORKSHOP
In tandem with his exhibition, Matt Forsythe will lead a 2-hour workshop on the picture book-making process—from concept and writing to revision and publication. Focusing on the art of visual storytelling, Matt will explore how to effectively combine images and text to craft compelling narratives. Ideal for creatives across disciplines, this workshop offers valuable insights into story development, composition, and the emotional power of illustration.
Through a mix of lecture, demonstration, and live painting, Matt will share his creative techniques and personal approach to picture book making.

ABOUT MATT FORSYTHE
Matt Forsythe is the author-illustrator of Pokko and the Drum, a critically acclaimed picture book that was named a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor Book, and a Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book.
In addition to his work in publishing, Matthew is an accomplished designer for animated film and television. He is currently a designer on Adventure Time: Side Quests and has previously worked on the original Adventure Time, The Midnight Gospel, and Robin Robin—an Oscar-nominated stop-motion film from Aardman Animations. He lives in Los Angeles.
