Join us for a creator panel / mini exhibition for the Cartoon Saloon / NETFLIX animated film: My Father's Dragon
Cartoon Saloon co-founder / director Nora Twomey and screenwriter Meg LeFauve will be joining us in the gallery to talk about the making of this new film, talk to fans and to answer questions.
* FREE film poster at the door for in person guests only.
* A selection of concept art work will be on display in the gallery one night only. Sunday November 6 (5pm - 7pm)

NORA TWOMEY BIO
Nora Twomey is an Academy Award®, BAFTA & Golden Globe nominated Director. She is also Partner & Creative Director at Cartoon Saloon, Ireland. In a career spanning over two decades, Nora has worked in a number of capacities on Cartoon Saloon's creative output. She was co-director to Tomm Moore’s Academy Award® nominated The Secret of Kells while also guiding the development processes on a number of series including Emmy nominated Puffin Rock and Dorg Van Dango. She was Head of Story on Academy Award® nominated Song of the Sea and Producer on Wolfwalkers. She directed The Breadwinner, which was also nominated for an Academy Award® & Golden Globe, and won several international awards including multiple Annies and the Audience & Jury Awards at Annecy. My Father's Dragon is Nora's third feature and second solo-directed film. She lives in Kilkenny with her husband, children, two cats and one fish.
MEG LEFAUVE BIO
Nominated for a Best Screenplay Oscar for the Pixar blockbuster "Inside Out", LeFauve won an Annie Award for that screenplay. She also wrote Pixar’s Golden Globe nominated film THE GOOD DINOSAUR and wrote on Marvel’s box office hit CAPTAIN MARVEL. LeFauve began her film career as a producer and President of Egg Pictures, Jodie Foster's film company. During that time, LeFauve produced films which were nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and she was awarded a Peabody for the Showtime film, "The Baby Dance." LeFauve also produced "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" which won the 2003 IFP Spirit Award for Best First Feature. LeFauve has been a consultant to Screen Australia and has been a mentor at many writing labs, including The Sundance Labs, Cinestory Script Sessions, and the Meryl Streep Lab. LeFauve taught at AFI and served as co-chair of the Graduate Producers Program at UCLA's School of Film and Television, where she taught master level story and development classes for over seven years. Raised in Warren, Ohio, LeFauve graduated from the Syracuse University Newhouse School.

From five-time Academy Award®-nominated animation studio Cartoon Saloon (The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers) and Academy Award®-nominated director Nora Twomey (The Breadwinner), comes an exquisite film inspired by the Newbery-honored children’s book from author Ruth Stiles Gannett. Struggling to cope after a move to the city with his mother, Elmer runs away in search of Wild Island and a young dragon who waits to be rescued. Elmer's adventures introduce him to ferocious beasts, a mysterious island and the friendship of a lifetime.
