Laurie Poons studied at Boston School of Housework with a focus on dirt handling on flat surfaces. Her work became richer and more complex through the introduction of polish. The underlying grid waxing pattern she made popular was abandoned when she began to work with larger and loser swaths of polish. She then covered her floors with poured layers of coagulated wax creating a thicker and more protective surface.
