FEATURED ARTISTS
Kristin Kwan
Kristin Kwan is an artist who makes illustrative paintings and drawings. Her work uses elements of fantasy and allegory to explore themes of life, death, and rebirth. She lives with her husband, daughter, and crowd of pets in Lincoln, NE.
When Kristin was growing up her family moved many times, and every new home held mysteries and secrets. She dreamed of hidden stairways that led to unknown attics, or cellars underneath that held forgotten treasures. That low door is still elusive, but when she picks up her pencil or paint brush she can find it for a little while. When she paints she tries to bring some of that magic country back with her.
Vanessa Gillings
Vanessa Gillings, a children’s author and illustrator inspired by nature, paints animals and images from fairytale settings, and quiet, everyday scenes. Working entirely in gouache, using a layering technique she developed and teaches in her skillshare class, her illustrations have been featured in coloring apps, children’s clothing companies, and galleries across the country. She currently lives in Washington, DC.
Eileen Kai Hing Kwan
Eileen Kai Hing Kwan is a Freelance Illustrator based in London. She loves to illustrate whimsical shapes and haunting and beautiful dream-like moments. Eileen graduated from Middlesex University with a First Class Honours in BA Illustration. Alongside illustrating, Eileen is the owner of art and sweets shop, The Little Mandarin in East London. Besides drawing, she likes games (currently playing Bloodborne), listening to records, crocheting, eating potatoes and watching action films.
Rebecca Green
Rebecca Green is an illustrator, painter, and author working in publishing, editorial, and fine art. She loves experimenting with traditional materials and uses an array of media including gouache, colored pencil, ink, and cut paper. In 2017, her debut picture book How To Make Friends With A Ghost (Penguin/Tundra) was published and has since been translated into more than seven languages. It was recently acquired by the Jim Henson Company for a stop-motion adaptation for children’s television.
