Originally from Fairfax, VA, Patrick Mathews fostered a love of drawing at early age. After studying architecture in college, he decided to change his focus to art and illustration. He later moved to San Francisco and worked as a concept and production artist in gaming. During his career as a game artist, he always pursued his interest in different mediums and techniques. This led him to building a skill set for making art in wide range of mediums including printmaking, sculpting, resin casting, and ceramics. His current body of work draws inspiration from metal album covers, skateboard graphics, Japanese folklore and tattoo imagery. Patrick is currently living and working in Oakland, CA with his partner, 2 dogs, 6 cats and a snake.
